EWheels Ventures into Medical Product Manufacturing First Product Line of Mobility Scooters Announce
Updated: Jul 11, 2018
PHOENIX, Ariz. (July 8, 2018)--EWheels, the leader in electric scooters with more than a million products manufactured each year, announced today it is venturing into the medical products and device manufacturing industry. Entrance into this lucrative $3 trillion healthcare industry requires a savvy approach that EWheels is prepared to bring, according to Andi Barness, National Sales & Marketing Director.
An entirely new company, EWheels Medical (www.ewheelsmedical.com) was created with all of the experience and energy of the EWheels brand.
"One of the major trends we are seeing in this industry is a shift to quality. It is not just about compliance,” said Barness. She noted that this is the case with a wide variety of medical
products and devices that are no longer simply functional. Innovative companies will find a way to move beyond designing simply for compliance with FDA and other regulatory standards but, additionally, will be keeping the end user’s needs in mind in both the design process and the equipment features provided.
“In a nutshell, we are making mobility scooters sexy. Why drive a boring scooter when you can ride around on one with style and personality?” adds Barness. In our ten years of being the top seller of recreational scooters in the U.S. we've learned a thing or two about what people want."
In addition to comfort and safety, Barness says customers should be proud of the scooters they drive. They should expect to see things like race car colors, bluetooth connections, USB ports, swivel executive chairs as well as scooters that are easy to disassemble and reassemble for easy transport.
EWheels Medical entered the market with its first electric mobility scooter, the EW-M34, a Candy Apple Red four-wheel, foldable scooter with a top speed of 4.5 miles per hour, a weight capacity of 300 pounds and a distance of up to 10 miles on a single charge. This foldable scooter can be dismantled into five pieces with the heaviest piece weighing only 28 pounds. Other features include a swivel executive seat with adjustable arms, a battery that can be charged on or off the scooter and a large detachable basket with carrying handle.
Additional electric scooters available later in the year include a three-wheel sister to the EW-M34, the EW-M33. A collapsible four-wheel silver scooter (EW-M44), a foldable racing blue four-wheel scooter (EW-M63) and a zippy red foldable four-wheel scooter (EW-M64).
All EWheels Medical products will be delivered to market through the vast dealer network that the company has amassed over the last decade. Experiencing rapid growth, EWheels has become the dominant player in the competitive electric scooter landscape. Frequently, rivals will try to produce knock-off versions of EWheels scooters, but none seem to be able to compete with the true industry leader.
Barness is proud of the fact that EWheels Medical not only provides a great opportunity to its in-network dealers, but also employs men and women in her local community to build and ship scooters throughout the US.
"The idea that we can expand and create new opportunities for our existing dealers and for a whole host of new dealers, is incredibly exciting. And isn't that what American industry is all about?"
